Cupping Experience by Wolthers Douqué in NY and in New Orleans

It was great to be back to New York on February 4th as we hosted many coffee specialists to experience a variety of fine coffees from different Origins, Spot and afloat to NY, Brazil Nucoffee Micro Lots and Fine descriptions, Parry Estate Kona/Hawaii and Colombian Micro Lots and Fine descriptions from our Trilladora – Mild Coffee Company in Huila.

In NY our venue was the new and just recently Michelin Star awarded restaurant “ Agern “ , smack in the Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal.

Claus Meyer and his “Brownsville Coffee Roasters” team opened their Nordic Food sanctuary for our guests and coffee paraphernalia.

The cupping was a success with plenty of interest and follow up by our guests.

In New Orleans, we received local roasters, roaster-retailers, retailers and some green coffee experts at Mojo Coffee Roasters on Freret Street.

The same Origins were featured through different stocklots as these are spot and afloat to Nola arriving early March.

At Mojo, we had quite a crowd attending the cupping experience, it was a delight to learn about the fast growing and very skilled local specialty and fine coffee community in the Region.

Brazilian Nucoffee Micro lots from Cocarive and Sul Minas Coops as well as the Colombian Huila MCCH Competition top scoring lots were the focus of everyone’s attention.

Another coffee that singled itself out was a “Natural Preparation“ Colombian Huila from the Pitalito municipality.
It was a pleasure to be back in New Orleans and meet with the local coffee specialists and specialty sector.
