Tour of the Americas – Late 2013 – Final Episode

Finca San Sebastian – Antigua

This was the second time in less than 40 days that I come to Guatemala; last stop was during the 4 episode of “Chasing the Roya 2013/Final episode”.

This time, I visit the San Sebastian Estate in the Central Antigua Valley, a farm that I’ve visited three times in the last 5 years. Don Carlos Garcia Paniagua, the Production Manager was our host. My group included Juan Gimenes from NUCOFFEE Brazil, Jack Robson, NUCOFFEE’s Q grader, and Professor Flavio Borem.

Every step of the visit expressed to us how important high operational standards play a role to produce the most famous coffees from Guatemala.

Although many roasters may prefer coffees from Huehue Tenango, the Region that carries the highest fame and recognition is Antigua. The San Sebastian Estate and their team of professionals are always working towards the next higher level in quality and productivity.
